Forever Moments

This is my 'Tonic' forever moments creation.  I was making it for a friends birthday, it was going to be White with green clocks stencilled on it. 

It went very wrong!  

So I started again, completely from scratch and his turned out so lovely that I rescued this one, using the same colours.  I am now really pleased with it.  It looked shocking when I was trying to paint it white, It had brush marks and paint runs all over.  I think I did quite a good rescue job.  It will now take pride of place in my new craft room 😌

I love Tonic products, the only downside to this one is that the drawers are made of thick cardboard.  I don't know what I expected but I thought a better quality drawer would have been a given.  The overall look, of the finished project, is fine though.

A few spare minutes...

As the title suggests...I had a few spare minutes and crocheted this little daisy.  I love blue and pink together so decided to use them instead of the, original, yellow and white. (The colours on the photo came out peach and grey....I may have to make some in peach and grey, when I have a few spare minutes).

I used a pattern by Doni Speigle, which I found via Craftsy.com, in their free patterns section.  

First Birthday🎂

I love this....I had the idea floating around in my head for a few weeks, then finally settled down to make it.  It worked out just as I imagined.....

I used my tattered lace 'little monsters' dies and pig, sheep and meerkat, also from tattered lace.  The alphabet and number dies were made using my cuttlebug dies...I think they are diesire dies but don't quote me?!?  Some pearlised card and Kraft card for matting and layering and 'voila'.

Happy Birthday to my little Great Neice.

Doodles

I made this for my niece's birthday.  I made my own topper, just by doodling, zentangle style. Some matting and layering, a couple of peel off borders, a 'Happy Birthday', little bow and voila my card is complete.

 I really enjoyed making this, it is so simple but, I think, so effective.  I love the way the border looks...just using the three colours and drawing wiggly lines, randomly, over each other....I hope you like it.  Xx

Birthday Panda

This is one of my 'secret' projects, made for my daughter in law's birthday yesterday.  It is only the third book folding I have done, and the first I have decorated.  My past loom band experience really came in handy, when I couldn't find a little Panda to sit on the top.    The designs I am using at the moment are from peerless designs,  they are on cdroms and really easy to do.  I'm loving this new craft......unfortunately. ....

I haven't blogged for a while, but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy crafting.   Mostly crocheting things lately, but I have also been doing other stuff, that I can't put on here yet, as they are for people's birthdays, so secret at the moment.

Keep watching this space there are more things to come....I have some ideas buzzing around in my head too....busy! Busy! Busy!......so still no time for housework :)

Book Folding

Here is my first 'proper' attempt at the art of Book Folding.  It's a little bit shabby around the edges, and in need of decorating, but I quite like it :)

Evie

I just can't believe my little Evie pops is 2.  Where does the time go?!?

I made her card using centura pearl card, cut with the tattered lace side stepper die.  I love using the stepper card dies because they instantly make the card different.  The little fairy and the fairy door are both tonic dies.  I love magical mystical things so these are right up my street.  The 'starry' corners were made using EK Success punches.  These double punches are great, I even used the 'waste' stars in true craft stylie.

Spectrum noir pencils

I really enjoyed making this card.  I used centura pearl card, die cut into a side stepper card using my new tattered lace die.  I have had my spectrum noir pencils since Christmas and this is the first time I have used them.  I loved them :)

Happy Easter

I don't really like wreaths, but I was inspired to make this from a wreath I saw last Easter.  We stayed in a small guest house in Downham Market for a few days, near Easter time, and the lady had several handcrafted items around the house.  She had a lovely Easter Egg wreath on the front door and I thought then that I would have to have a go at making one this year. 

 I just used polystyrene eggs with decopatch paper, a few little chicks and a bit of ribbon.  I quite like how it turned out. 

Today's make:

I thought I'd make a card today......and it's not a box card. Yay!?! 

I found a Hunkydory kit, that I'd put away in a very safe place, and thought I would see what I could do with it.  I really love butterflies so any excuse to use them, in my crafting, is fine by me.  This particular kit was called 'fluttering pearl' and is printed on Centua pearl card ( another favourite of mine.). I also used a plain (green) sheet of Centura pearl, and a sheet of craft card.  The cut out border is one of my new Tattered Lace dies.  Hope you like it :)

Harry's 5th Birthday

Where does the time go.  My lovely Grandson is 5 already!?!  So here's the card I made.  I'm so into my box cards at the moment, I promise I will post something different next time.  I do have another card waiting, but it is for the Craftmania March challenge so it will have to wait a while, until my crafty friends have done theirs.  

February Challenge

My friendly, local, craft shop, Craftmania, in Lowestoft,  run a monthly challenge and this is my entry for February.

We buy a kit for the very reasonable price of £5.99.  For this we get lots of goodies, papers ribbon, embellishments and usually a card blank.  Sometimes we get a 'brief' to work to, and other times we are left to go wherever our creative juices take us, within the confines of the kit.  We are allowed to use any other bits from our crafty stash, but I really like to just use the stuff in the kit.  This month, the only extra I added was a sheet of A4 craft card, and this is what I came up with......

Yarnspirations Mystery Afghan

This is my current project.  I am crocheting the 'Yarnspirations' Mystery Afghan.  You join me at Clue#3.  It is a progressive piece, Clue#1 was the basic granny square (the pink bit).  Clue#2 was the cross (the grey bit), and Clue#3 is both the blue and the white edges. I am really enjoying doing it but have absolutely no idea how it will turn out.  All I know is,  it is a single size afghan (Sorry that is very American,  it is a throw, a single sized throw).  Like I said I don't know where this is leading so watch this space.  Or if you want to have a go too, head over to their website and join the fun xx
